Paul Mitchell The School - Dallas is seeking a qualified Bursar to join our family! Bursar's Role 

The Bursar assists Future Professionals in all aspects of the finance process to ensure that the Future Professional and institution receives funds in a timely fashion.  This role will:

  • Accurately discuss, communicate and collect any required student cash payments, outside scholarships and third party payments.
  • Assist Future Professionals in all aspects of the finance process by delivering accurate, up-to-date information in a calm, polite professional demeanor, which is in line with our culture.
  • Answer questions and provide support to Future Professionals via email, telephone, and various other communication methods. 
  • Maintain telephone coverage during assigned hours, including answering inbound calls from Future Professionals and internal customers and making outbound calls for various purposes
  • Acquire, enter, edit and update Student Data in various internal and external systems
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
  • Follow all established operating procedures.
  • Meet assigned productivity goals.
  • Various other duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid and Compliance.
  • Present Financial Planning Classes to Future Professionals during orientation.  

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will be able to interpret, apply, and comply with federal, state, and institutional guidelines and regulations related to financial aid. He or she provides support for various operational and problem-solving functions such as working reports and performing basic needs analysis. This person must demonstrate integrity, ethical behavior, and a high level of confidentiality in recognizing and working with confidential information and records concerning the personal finances of Future Professionals. The position requires the ability to focus on a variety of tasks, and inspect and lead his or her team to do the same. He or she must maintain an organized and effective office and be able to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

Skills/Competencies Required:

  • Financial Aid Experience preferred
  • Experience in collections is a plus
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to deliver outstanding customer service by telephone, email and other media
  • Ability to follow processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  
  • Solid work history with verifiable references
  • Passion for the beauty industry
  • Honesty and professionalism
